GRÄNSFORS BRUK SWEDISH CARVING AXE
This Gränsfors Carving Axe is a work of art and a seriously good carving tool used by professional carvers around the world.
Designed by Swedish master carver, Wille Sundqvist, this axe has a large head with a long curved blade that works really well in slicing through wood. It's widely used as a trusty tool for roughing out spoons, and it has the heft for hewing out large bowl blanks as well.
It still manages finer cuts despite its larger size, and the handle with its intentionally textured feel gives confidence and heaps of control.
Like all Gränsfors axes it is hand forged in Sweden using superb quality carbon steel and it comes really sharp and ready to carve with the individual maker's initials stamped on the head.
It comes with a great quality leather sheath and a copy of the Gränsfors Axe Book which has lots of info about their axes and how they are made.
